ART14 is both a system of teaching acting, delivering courses and workshops for personal development through ACTING & IMPROVISATION courses, as well as being an active and growing THEATRE COMPANY, based in Totnes, Devon @ THE ANGEL SPACE.

Our Story
The ART14 experience has evolved over many years under several different names, starting as an alternative system of teaching with experimental student productions in the heart of Copenhagen in the 1970's. It's next manifestation was in Berlin, in the 80's and 90's, again as part of experimental end of term productions called GEBURT ABSURD (Absurd Birth). On arriving back in UK in 1995, Josephine Larsen managed and directed TRANSFORM THEATRE, and then HEARTS TONGUE THEATRE Ltd, both local theatre companies in Devon. Out of those activities evolved a series of SURREAL SALOONS - experimental platforms for emerging talent in the form of a surreal in cabaret style. During this period, she was also teaching and is now directing under the name ART14 - which means 'the marriage of the opposites'.
