The ART14 Team
The ART14 workshops and events include the skills of other highly experienced teachers. Each teacher has a different set of skills to offer, so that we can widen and deepen the understanding of this mysterious and ancient Human Art Form called ACTING.
Josephine Larsen
Founder of ART14
Acting & Improvisation
Josephine became the ‘star’ of LA VIE EN ROSE (Berlin Cabaret 1979 - 81). This led to her performance in the French cult film CLEMENTINE TANGO, after which followed REINEKE FUCHS ROCK OPERA (1982 - 87) and then BERLIN PLAY ACTORS (1987- 95). Since 1995 she has been living and working in Devon, where she managed and directed TRANSFORM THEATRE and HEARTS TONGUE Ltd. later touring SHORT SHIFTS (13 short plays by Peter Oswald and the poetic works of ALICE OSWALD -T.S.Eliot Award). Throughout her professional career Josephine has been teaching Acting skills to Actors and Non-Actors, developing her unique approach to teaching called ART14, about which she has written a book called THE POWER OF ACTING.
Robin Seymour
Scene Study & Coaching
Having previously worked at the Royal Court in London and Morley College’s acting studio, he trained in Meisner technique at the Playhouse West studio in Los Angeles under Robert Carnegie (where Meisner taught at the end of his life). He continued his development as a student of Deborah Aquila and John Hindman at the Aquila/Morong studio (Stella Adler), and later as part of Diana Castle’s Imagined Life™ studio. He has numerous theatrical and film credits. As a result of these experiences he has a unique approach to acting, applying a forensic level of insight into the work, from script analysis to final performance. He is also a songwriter and has released an EP of original songs.
Charlie Mac-Ray Tod
Shakespeare & Growtowski Techniques
Charlie has recently graduated from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama with an MA in Classical Acting. He is a working actor represented by IAG agency. He founded and ran TRENCH Films for 5 years before training and now specializes in teaching a combination of Grotowski and Demidov inspired acting techniques. He is particularly interested in classical mythology and accessing different 'states of aliveness' between performers through intensive group workshops. He has recently finished a series of solo performances, as he walked from the original site of the Globe Theatre up to Shakespeare's grave in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
